The volatile phase filter is located between the reducer and the injector rail in sequential gas injection systems. Its task is to protect the injector rail and the engine against solid contaminants contained in LPG gas, which could disturb the engine's operation or damage the installation.
Polyester insert for the Ultra 360° ALEX volatile phase settling tank filter
To ensure high filtration efficiency, polyester was used as the filter material. The polyester filter materials we used are special non-woven fabrics that are characterized by better filtration efficiency than paper and tissue paper and a slightly different mechanism for retaining pollutant particles. To ensure adequate filtration accuracy over a long period of use, the surface of the filter material must be as large as possible, which was achieved by pleating it, without increasing the size of the filter.
In addition to the ability to retain contaminants (filtration efficiency), the filter material must also have appropriate durability. We achieved this by properly shaping it (pleating) and using additional elements that do not participate in the filtration process, but ensure, for example, appropriate stiffness of the filter insert.
The filter element should be replaced once a year or every 15,000 km.
